Rough & Tough & Dangerous

Who doesn't love a good leather jacket? Whether it's real, pleather, or vegan, there are so many different styles- in various colors and cuts- that you can't
go wrong; Throw one over a tee to keep things casual, a dress to add some edge to your flirt, or a button-up for a twist on menswear. Here are a few
shots of ones we love, beautifully showcasing what great things can be done with a simple (and sometimes not-so-simple) leather jacket:

What do you guys think? Do any of these outfits resemble something you've already worn?
Or are you lusting after one of these dope outwear pieces? We sure are; Send us a note and we'll talk about it. xx

C's Holiday Outfits

Party 1:  Wine & cheese night at home

Every year I have a themed Christmas party with some of my closest friends from highschool. The theme usually surrounds the food we're eating, and it's always a potluck. This year we (we as in me) decided to have a wine and cheese night because I LOVE WINE. So we had many different types of wine, crackers and cheese. It was great!

My outfit: I wore the mint green lace collared top that I bought at Marshalls in the states a few months ago. For my hair I did a high ponytail and teased my hair a bit (unfortunately you can't really tell here because I'd already had a few glasses of wine...) and I paired it with a floral white headband I bought in Singapore. For my jewelry I stacked a combination of white and silver bracelets, wore my standard pair of pearl earrings and Tiffany necklace.

Party #2:  Hotel Christmas Party, Downtown Toronto

Not only was this party cool because my sister's friends had it at a hotel but also because we were divided into 2 teams : Red vs. Green. And everyone had to dress in their colour. I was on team green and decided to wear a long sheer mint green skirt (which apparently wasn't green enough for people) and tucked in a purple top from Wilfred. My jewelry again was simple: stacked silver bracelets, Tiffany necklace, peace sign necklace and pearl earrings.

Party #3:  Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve I wore this maroon peplum top I bought from H&M a while back that I've been saving for Christmas. (J has the same top; It's that great.) I didn't really wear any bracelets, instead I wore a nice collar necklace that I bought from Forever21. I wore this top with a tight black skirt from H&M as well. But you could also wear this top with dark skinny jeans for a more casual look.

Party #4:  New Year's Eve

For New Year's Eve my best friend and her boyfriend came over and we had a little party in my basement (see http://fashiontakemyheart.blogspot.ca/2012/12/last-minute-new-years-eve-ideas.html). I wore a black and cream chiffon dress from TopShop. I wore a lot of accessories/bling, consisting of a collar necklace (A Christmas gift from Forever 21) and various gold and pearl bracelets (From Forever21 and Juicy Couture) since New Year's style is all about shine.

Party #5:  New Year's Day

On New Year's Day we went to my aunt's house for dinner, as tradition. I wore a blouse that I bought at Forever21 on sale (Boxing Day obviously) and I wore red lipstick and a red purse for a pop of colour!

On Campus Fashion

My Fall Semester is finally over, after a long 3 months of hard work I can finally get back to regularly blogging on FTMH. While walking around campus the one thing I'm always looking at is what people are wearing and looking at all the new trends. From September to December I could see how the Summer Trends slowly fell into the Autumn trends and how those became Winter trends. There are few strings that tie the seasons together and this post will give you the inside scoop......

Pants

In the summertime coloured pants in bright colours and pale pastels were a huge hit. Well that trend is still in for the Fall/Winter Season, but just darker and warmer colours. The most common colours I've seen around campus are maroon, army green, khaki, dark orange, and brown. I personally love all these colours for the Fall and think they look great on everyone.

Jackets & Coats

As Summer ended, the leaves started to change and the wind started to stroll in we had to start putting on our jackets. For the Autumn my favourite is my leather jacket, and apparently I wasn't the only one. Leather jackets along with denim jackets were a huge hit. However, I did start seeing a new jacket, the trooper jacket. The most common colours I saw in the trooper jacket were in army green, camel brown, and khaki. I really love these jackets and honestly wish I had one of my own. They have hoods which are great because we were getting hit with A LOT of rain, we can thank Sandy for that.

Fall has steadily turned in Winter and so the leaves have disappeared and the winds have started getting stronger; Man it's freaking cold as hell and I live in Canada, so you can just imagine how cold it is. The most popular winter coats here up north are the Aritzia (popular high end Canadian store that is slowly making its way to the US) parkas and jackets by TNA. A popular Aritiza product is the peacoat, with available styles by Wilfred and Talula. Also in the past few years the Canada Goose Jackets has become a staple in lots of wardrobes as it's incredibly warm- it's almost unreal.

Footwear

Popular shoes in the earlier crisp days of Fall were Toms, Sperry Topsiders (popular among guys as well), oxfords, flats, and moccasins. But as it started getting colder, boots became the more appropriate form of footwear. From combat boots to knee highs there are so many different types of boots out there to choose from. As Sandy started raining on us Hunters and Tretorn rain boots became a favourite for many girls. Walking around on campus without rainboots is a very unpleasant experience, trust me. As it started getting even colder and exam season started rolling in most girls were just looking for comfort and what best to turn to then our Uggs. That is one boot that I honestly think will not go out of trend.

Accessories

Some of the most popular Fall/Winter accessories that will never go out of style are infiniti scarves, headwraps, hats, and gloves. These are my favourite winter accessories because they actually keep you warm! Another popular favourite are the Talula mittens from Aritzia which are lined with fleece and are super warm. Check these out and don't forget to tell us: What are you wearing to keep you warm & in style?

Never trust a pretty girl with an ugly secret.

ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars drama series boasts one of TV's most stylish casts to date- at least in our opinion. Stars Shay Mitchell (as Emily Fields), Lucy Hale (as Aria Montgomery), Troian Bellisario (as Spencer Hastings) and Ashley Benson (as Hanna Marin) are fashion muses to the masses and can always be found either creating or rocking hot trends. If you aren't already in love with at least one of these girls styles, this post will help you make up your mind- and maybe provide some outfit inspiration.

Though Rosewood, the wealthy suburban Pennsylvania town which serves as a backdrop for the show, may look quiet on the outside there's definitely no shortage of drama for the residents. This applies to none more so than Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hannah who are always wrapped up in something dangerous and exciting; Even still, through it all, their trendy fashion sense never slips. Aria opts for eccentric pieces with funky prints and embellishments. Emily prefers casual attire and footwear with a slight urban edge. Hanna pairs flirty yet daring clothing and jewelry for chic ensembles. Spencer is a master at mixing style ideas and touches to create unique looks all her own. The girls of Rosewood Highschool have had too many brilliant fashion moments to list here, but here are few of our favorites:

Like what you see? Well keep a look out for our upcoming posts on each of these starlets, where we'll be taking an in-depth look at both the characters & ladies who play the Pretty Little Liars. And remember, like the show warns: Never trust a pretty girl with an ugly secret. xx
