Gossip Girl: The Thin Line Between Dan & Nate

         

          What better way to wrap up our Gossip Girl series, than to load the closing post with pictures of hot guys with some serious style. So let's start at the beginning of Dan Humphrey and Nate Archibald: They didn't start out as friends (Nate's from a very wealthy family and Dan- well... not so much.) but over the seasons they've let their differences fall to the wayside. In turn, they've grown together yet apart in the style departments; Nate is more business oriented so he can often be seen in a fitted suit, and Dan is more of a casual button-up and jeans kind of guy.

          Both boys have very distinct styles that speak to their personality and the image they are looking to portray. Nate has a very clean and sophisticated wardrobe, normally in a muted pallet of grays and blues; When dressed down, he plays it cool in linen and white. Dan's fashion staples include dark patterned plaid shirts, cardigans, and lots of different coats; He's a comfortable dresser that loves to roll up his sleeves.

Gossip Girl: Belles de Jour

          Gossip Girl's fresh approach to style doesn't stop at Blair and Serena, or Chuck and Jenny. There are more than a few honorable mentions in the fashion department including Serena's multiple-divorcee mother Lily Bass, certified meddler Vanessa Abrams, and resident villain Georgina Sparks. Lily has a classy, age appropriate style, that is always put together and never lacking an accessory or upscale touch. She and Serena both love statement jewelry, so it clearly runs in the family.

          Vanessa, who was introduced as Dan's best friend from Brooklyn, has the most eccentric style of any character on the show. Often mixing at least two colorful prints in an outfit, multiple accessories types and layers- Vanessa's role has definitely made a style impression. Georgina is characterized as a serious schemer, always plotting some sort of revenge, so her darker wardrobe fits her perfectly. She usually wears studded, spiky, or muted patterned items with leather and lots and lots of black. Below are some shots showcasing these three ladies' style over the past seasons...

C Signing Back On

          Hey everyone C here; Back from my month long vacation to Singapore, India, and Sri Lanka. My trip was amazing! I learned a lot about fashion while there and bought a lot of cool stuff. I can't wait to share everything with you guys. Unfortunately though, I have to move back in to school early this week so while I'm unpacking from my trip I'm also packing for school and I'm super busy right now. But I'll still make time for you of course! I'm actually moving into a house with 2 of my friends, and so I have to bring a load of stuff for our house. In the coming weeks I'll be blogging about what kinds of things a student will need in a new house and living situation. That's all for now. Much love xoxo

Gossip Girl: S is for Serena

          Gossip Girl's Serena Van Der Woodsen is the It Girl of the Upper East Side. Every girl wants to be her, every guy wants to date her, and the paparazzi can't get enough of her. From a wealthy family, Serena wears a good deal of designer couture and even walks a runway from time to time. With eclectically chic style, she makes any outfit look wearable and often makes you want exactly what she's wearing. Head to toe, S looks effortlessly pulled together at all times, often with Louboutin's and beachy waves or a sleek updo. 
          
         A signature look of Serena's usually includes a stylish blazer or jacket, with some super cute heels or boots. Add a big bag and some statement jewelry or chunky scarf and you've got the backbone of S's gorgeous style. Whether she's dressed up in a gown or rockin' a mini, Ms. Van Der Woodsen is the perfect NYC style muse... and here are some looks that we adore:

Gossip Girl: The Blair Bitch Project

          Blair Waldorf, a main character on the CW's hit show Gossip Girl, is one Upper East Sider you do not want to mess with; Behind the Cartier and Chanel she is one hell of a bitch. But besides her scheming and entitled attitude, she is a total style icon. Queen B, as she's often called on the show, has a style persona that's entirely unique... many attempt to mimic her looks but fall flat.

          In earlier seasons, while attending high school, Blair would transform her uniform into an all out ensemble; Often spotted with perfect ringlets, a headband, and colored stockings. She was not shy with her accessory choices, nor with the money she'd spent on them. I mean hey- if your parents were filthy rich wouldn't you spend your time at Barney's and Bendles? In the newer seasons Blair has an even more sophisticated wardrobe that surely inspires viewers. Here's a look at Blair's one of a kind style that we all love!
